U.S. Judge Dismisses Charges Against 6 Somalis

Back on April 16, 2009 and November 18, 2009, I wrote about several situations involving Somali teens accused of Piracy, as many then termed it.

Seems appropriate that a judge has seen fit to declare the then labeled pirates as not fitting a nearly 200-year-old Supreme Court decision, United States v. Smith as well as the international definition of piracy.

Since there is no viable stabilized government in Somalia, teens, including adults, are simply seeking means of sustainability. I say cudos to U.S. District Judge Raymond A. Jackson...

Mr. President, U.S. Needs NEW Constitution

Since extremists; Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, who openly state "I hope Barrack Obama fails" (they don't even call him President) are so synchronized against defeating the nation's 1st Black and 44th American President's agenda, including heath care for children, they promote, at a minimum, racial divisiveness.

Maybe the President should send his Secret Service to pay those guys a friendly visit.

Racial tensions has never been worse since President Johnson predicted that the southern Democrat and the Dixiecrat would switch parties after the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1964. Well, they did switch, from Democrat to Republican.

And sadly, republican governor, Richard "Rick" Perry, he's governor to at least the first Tuesday in November, publicly supported Succession, succeeding from the union. Mr. Perry knew or should have known that this was a code word for confederacy, slavery, lynchings and Jim Crow. I contend it's the latter.

Hum, did he really mean that or was he running to the far right of the party, racism and bigotry, for the nomination? To be fair, the republican racists and bigots are the democratic equal to the left coast environmentalist wackos. Conveniently, party candidates that prevail in their primaries tend to come toward the middle and claim to be centrist.

And now comes self proclaimed "states' right" proponent, another confederacy like code word, Rep. Louie Gohmert, garnering support to repeal the 17th amendment. Well, congressman, while you're at it, why not repeal the 13th amendment, abolishment of slavery.

This is why America needs a new CONSTITUTION.

"Let's just start all over with a clean sheet of paper," as Senator Lamar Alexander and his republican cohorts rationaled, because "we were not consulted" nor were we invited at the table when the Health Care Bill was written.

Well senator, Blacks, Latinos and Asians were not consulted nor were they invited at the table when the all white, all males wrote the Constitution.

Mr. President, let's have real change, let's have an all inclusive summit and let's draft a NEW U.S. Constitution.

US Treasury Secretary Should Be Fired, NOW!!!

Timothy Geitner is the financial overseer of a 9.7% unemployment rate. But, some economists has estimated it to be more around 15% -17%. That said, as chairman of the New York Federal Reserve Bank under the Bush Administration, Mr. Geitner advised, in error, then secretary Hank "Henry" Paulson on the 2008 Wall Street bailout, now known as TARP, Troubled or Toxic Asset Relief Program.

He knew or should have known that once bankers were bailed out, they'd return to their same old greedful ways. Believing that if they shored up their finances, they'd circulate the funds back into the economy via loans. Naivete.

Instead, bankers' advocates had the audacity to tell an unassuming public that financial institutions need not only be given billions, but their employees should also continue to be enriched, fearing that they'd leap to the competition.

Gee whiz.

These are some of the scoundrels that facilitated the economic downturn via massive fraud. Now, Mr. Treasurer reportedly made ANOTHER ridiculous deal with Citi last December when it agreed to sell the remaining $25 billion stake in 2010 after they (Citi) repaid $20 billion 4 months ago. This move was simply for bonuses that weren't eligible for 2009 because of specific bailout restrictions would be removed by year end of 2010. Cha ching!!!!

History shows that after a financial rescue, the violators tend to return to the same behavior, as simply evidenced in bankruptcy cases. You relieve the debt, the debtor tends to return to the very same negative behavior.

Further, Timothy is simply not savvy enough to oversee a $14 trillion economy. While cuddling with his fair skinned blue eyed cohorts near Manhattan's 23 Liberty Street, America's checkbook has dwindled within shillings of the former Rhodesian government.

President Obama, selecting an academician and a theorist as Treasury Secretary was not a good choice, a reach at best. But, there's a ray of hope. Albeit unlikely, with congress on break, make a bold recess appointment, along with the other 15 you're expected to make, a new Treasury Secretary.

Republicans Introduce Bill to Repeal NEW Health Care Law... ALREADY?

Sens. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Robert Bennett of Utah, Kit Bond of Missouri, Saxby Chambliss of Georgia, Mike Crapo of Idaho, John Ensign of Nevada, Kay Bailey Hutchinson of Texas, James Inhofe of Oklahoma, George LeMieux of Florida, James Risch of Idaho, Pat Roberts of Kansas and David Vitter of Louisiana have joined on a Tea Party like insurgency along with at least 14 Republican Attorney Generals (at last count) to attempt to undo the President's signature campaign pledge, the passage of comprehensive Health Care Reform for America, now known as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

Shame on these blatant obstructionists as they were never concerned about Health Care Reform or its associated costs. Remember, President Obama added 50-100 of Republican suggestions into the final bill and it still garnered no republican support. So obviously, Republican leaders had decided they weren't supporting health care reform, regardless. Hence, Republican Senator Lamar Alexander of Tennessee uttered in the conference committee with Democrats and the President, "...shelf the current bill and let's start over with a clean sheet of paper." This appeared to become one of their primary talking points as fellow republicans started reiterating this mantra constantly through the press and on their network, Fox News.

Alexander and his cohorts had 16 years to draft comprehensive Health Care Reform since defeating Clinton Administration's attempt since 1994, instead, they chose to pursue deregulation, tax cuts and war.

March 1, 1875: Congress passes the Civil Rights Act? Really?

Seems unbelievable that the US Congress passed another Civil Rights Act 135 years ago to this day only the be struck down by a Klansian-like Supreme Court 8 years later.

Worse, Civil Rights Act legislation passed as early as 1866 and withstood a veto by then President Andrew Johnson who argued that the Act violated states' rights.

States Rights? Yeah, states rights!

This argument is exactly as today's ultra right winged and often high tempered Tea Party goers and even a current sitting southern governor. But, is this a valid argument or is it a modern shield of Jim Crow advocacy.

Obama Administration Announces NEW Funds for US Housing Market

Mr. President, announcing $1.5 billion in additional funding for ONLY five states may be your most partisan decision yet when $23 billion has already been allotted via the US Treasury Department. Coincidentally, the additional funding press conference being announced in Senator Harry Reid's state of Nevada, where he happens to be trailing a Dick Cheney-like Republican miserably by double digits doesn't lend credence to bipartisanship.

Oh, the WORST decision, your support of George W. Bush's initiated WALL STREET BAILOUT.

Allow the marketplace to market...

$3.8 Trillion Budget? Are You Serious Mr. President?

Don't go spending like your predecessors whose fool hearted supply side economists believed that if government cut taxes, treasury receipts would increase. But, they didn't curb their drunken sailor-like spending.

To cut deficits, government must cut spending, PERIOD.

OBAMA: Tax on Big Banks' TARP Funds?

While listening to President Obama's decision to propose legislation to tax the largest recipients of the Toxic Asset Releif Program (TARP), I could not help from quietly applauding.

While every Wall Street analyst/commentator will coordinate a barrage of negitivisms against the President for this strategy to repay tax payers "every dime", this is the BEST economic decision this administration has made since announcing its support of TARP...
